FIRST TIME CONNECTING?

Create the right API key

Use a dedicated key for Remnants HQ. Torn's API is read-only, and there is no reason to give HQ your Torn password.

Use Minimal Access

HQ uses public profile/faction information plus personal dashboard data such as your bars and cooldowns. Torn places bars and cooldowns in the Minimal Access tier, so Minimal is the recommended key.

PUBLIC ONLYToo limited for the full HQ dashboard.

MINIMAL ACCESS ✓Recommended and sufficient for HQ.

LIMITED ACCESSWorks, but HQ does not require it.

FULL ACCESSNot required. Do not create one for HQ.

Remnants HQ is designed around the minimum access needed for its current member tools.

Encrypted at restYour API key is encrypted with AES-GCM before it is stored by Remnants HQ.

Read-only Torn APIThe Torn API is for retrieving data. An API key is not your password and does not let HQ play your account for you.

Faction-only accessHQ checks the connected account's faction and rejects accounts that are not members of Legitimate Remnants.
